Psy is a Korean musician who recently released his sixth album, and his video Gangnam Style on YouTube has now hit 12 Million Views. I probably account for at least fifty of those views. Psy is a talented artist who was formally educated in the US in Boston at BU and the Berkelee School of Music, and he writes his own songs, choreographs his own music. I first saw a video of him when a friend posted Psy’s Olympic fight song.
I mention Ricky Martin because Martin burst back onto the US stage at the Grammys, and this first video with so many views is our first introduction to Psy. It’s up to Psy and his management team how he shapes his public image and his future career here. Some folks have dismissed him as an LMFAO copy, but he’s obviously not based on the work he’s done, but it will be interesting to see what comes next.
